19 / "Higher Openings" [06.20.2007]
COMMENT: For tournament play in the l950's, there were very few passes - either a standard opening bid or a very undisciplined preempt. Such undisciplined preempts prevented partner from making better decisions. OMEGA's higher-level opening bids are intended to bring competitive pressure on opponents while providing useful and more detailed information for our partnership.
